Asian Style pork belly

Ingredients
 
1-2kg pork belly
200g plums
200ml soy sauce
30g sesame seeds
Salt and black pepper
I Onion
3tsp Sun flower oil
450g pasta elbows
450g pak choy
2tsp sugar
Clove of garlic  

 

Method

  • Cut the skin off the pork
  • Fry pork in a pan until golden brown
  • Take 50g plums and soy sauce, put in a pan and add water (ca 500ml)
  • Place in oven at 160-170oC for 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Slice the skin, lay them in a tin and roast until crispy
  • After meat is cooked strain the fat off the sauce
  • Pan fry the sesame seeds until golden brown
  • Take the rest of the plums, a dash of soy sauce and roasted sesame seeds and add to the strained sauce.
  • Season the sauce with salt and pepper
  • Cook pasta in salted water
  • Slice pak choy
  • Caramelise the chopped onion with a little sugar (approx. 2 mins)
  • Add the sliced pak choy and garlic
  • Cook for 4-5 mins
  • Add salt and pepper
